It is believed to be the oldest pearl necklace in history. The pearl necklace was discovered in a queen tomb of that ancient city. Records state that the necklace is said to be over three thousand years old. This just shows that pearls are really one of the oldest gems recorded in our history. Even the queens way way back thousands and thousands of years ago were captivated with the beauty and charm of pearls.Pearls are not only popular in Persia, where the oldest pearl necklace was discovered. For example, In Rome pearls are looked upon as a status symbol.
